Community
Te Kura Tātahi o Waihī | Waihi Beach School is a vibrant education community that extends beyond just our core team. We partner and collaborate with a range of those in our community to bring impact to whānau and tamariki. We believe that our tamariki are a contributing part of our community and strive to ensure that ngā rangatira mō āpōpō (leaders of tomorrow) actively participate in our community.

Kotahi rau tau | Centenary 2024
In October 2024, our community came together to commemorate a century of education and memories from Te Kura Tātahi o Waihī | Waihi Beach School. It was an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, celebrate our shared history, and look forward to an exciting future. From planting trees by the descendants of those first enrolled in the school, to student-led school tours, to delicious food and dancing at the RSA, it was an outstanding event. Our community commitment to education throughout the past 100 years was evident throughout this event.
Learning Spaces
Our learning spaces are well-resourced and intentionally designed for collaborative teaching practices. Our classrooms are empowered with high quality digital technology, including iPads, chromebooks, educational apps, digital microscopes and we also have a maker space. We operate at one-to-one digital access in Te Pūaha. We have a swimming pool that our tamariki use during Term 1 and Term 4 for triathlon, daily swimming and water confidence programmes.

Collaborative Projects
Te Kura Tātahi o Waihī | Waihi Beach School proudly collaborates with community organisations on projects, and kaupapa that enable tamariki to connect to real world problems to encourage active responsibility in working toward solutions. We have a broad range of kaupapa and organisations that we have contributed to and are particularly proud of our contributions to sustainable initiatives

Generous Support
Our tamariki have had tremendous impact through a range of grants, funds and support by those in our local, regional and national community. We believe that it is through generous financial and voluntary time we can develop initiatives that allow our aspirations to be realised. We have had success with awards and national grants, and acknowledge that there are many organisations and people in our community who enable our tamariki to have the very best learning opportunities. We realise we couldn’t provide our learning opportunities without the supportive relationships we have for learning and are continually blown away by the commitment by many. Below is a list of our organisations we have worked with, this list is always growing.
